SWINDON-born explorer David Hempleman-Adams will be helping the Mayor of Swindon raise money for his three chosen charities next month.

Mr Hempleman-Adams, who is preparing for a trek to the foothills of Everest in April, will be the guest speaker at a Spring Soiree fund-raiser at the Village Swindon, formerly known as the De Vere Hotel.

It takes place on Friday, March 11, with the Wiltshire adventurer, pictured, talking about some of his challenges when he became the first person to reach the geographic and magnetic North and South Poles, as well as climb the highest peaks on all seven continents.

There will be a three-course supper and dancing to the Nathan Jones AllStars Jazz Swing Band.

Money raised will go to Coun Rex Barnett’s three charities – Prospect Hospice, the Willows Counselling Service and the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement.

Tickets are £40 each with tables of 10 available. To reserve a place email marilyn@redheadpr.co.uk or call Marilyn on 07824 550338.
