MUSICIANS, actors and school pupils pulled off a special concert to raise money for two forces charities.

The Wroughton Silver Band, the Ellendune Entertainers and students from the Ridgeway School in Wroughton entertained an appreciative crowd at the concert with a variety of music, drama and songs in aid of the Poppy Appeal and the Help For Heroes charity.

Liz Derbyshire, organiser of the Poppy Appeal for Wroughton, said: “I am absolutely delighted with their efforts.

“It was an absolutely splendid show and their commitment to two very worthwhile charities is excellent. This brings the total for the Poppy Appeal in Wroughton to £5,027 and I am immensely grateful.”

The concert which was staged at the Ridgeway School on Friday, November 12 last year was a huge success and raised £1,265 for the two charities.

The Wroughton and District branch of the Royal British Legion was reformed last May.
