BREATHTAKING stunts, lavish costumes and a blaze of colour add up to an evening of entertainment which will leave you on the edge of your seat as The Chinese State Circus presents Mulan, the Live Action Spectacular.

In fact, it is fair to say it is a spectacle packed with gravity-defying gymnastics executed with perfect precision and split second timing based around one of China’s greatest heroines the legend of Mulan.

This Chinese warrior woman joined the emperor’s all-male army disguised as a man in place of her father who was too old to fight and she was promoted to rank of general.

The title role of Mulan is performed by martial arts expert Liu Yu.

The two hours of entertainment, has something for everyone and the repertoire is second-to-none from the lightening fast reactions of the Shaolin Warriors to the spellbinding lion dance which wowed the audience.

An incredible unicycle act combines the art of unicycling to outstanding juggling and balance proving China is not called “the kingdom of the bicycles’ for nothing!

All in all the performance by The Chinese State Circus is a treat not to be missed. The show is at The Wyvern Theatre until Saturday, February 26, with performance times varying. You can catch the show on Friday, February 25 at 5pm and 8pm and on Saturday, February 26 at 2pm and 8pm.
