TEXTILE artist Kath Danswan is exhibiting her felt work at the Beehive pub.

The co-founder of the Great Western Embroiderers and has recently started a new group called Sit-n-Stitch.

Kath, of Old Town, was taught embroidery from an early age by her mother and grandmother and developed her love of nature, from which she gains much of the inspiration for her work.

She specialises in handmade embroidered felt wall hangings, bags and the exquisite embroidered silk bowls for which she has become renowned. Her work is in private collections worldwide.

“The work will be there until the end of April and all my felts have been inspired by nature and made right from scratch,” she said.

“I hope as many people will come down and enjoy what I have done.”

The 61-year-old’s daughter Claire works at the Prospect Hill pub.
