A POST mortem examination has revealed that the 40-year-old man murdered on Friday night died from multiple stab wounds.
A home office pathologist concluded that the victim was stabbed to death.
The police cordon in place on part of Manchester Road from the junction with Corporation Street has now been removed and the road has re-opened.
Searches of the area have took place throughout yesterday and a weapon has been recovered.
This will now be subject to forensic examination.
In the early hours of this morning Edino Carvalho,23, of Plymouth Street in Swindon was charged with murder.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow.
