PRACTICAL workshops to help people brighten up the outside of their homes are being held at Lydiard Park later this month.

The workshops, which are on Tuesday, May 15, will see participants working alongside Lydiard Park’s head gardener Simon Brooks to plant a hanging basket packed with a beautiful and colourful display of flowers to brighten up any garden, patio or balcony.

Two sessions, starting at 10am and 2pm, will be held on the day and each last for about an hour. A place on the workshops costs £10, which includes all materials and plants.

People taking part will also be able to visit the beautifully restored 18th Century Walled Garden at Lydiard Park for further garden inspiration. Old clothing should be worn and gardening gloves and a trowel are also recommended.

Places must be booked in advance so people are asked to call Lydiard House on 01793 770401 to make a booking or email lydiardpark@swindon. gov.uk For more information about this event and other workshops, events and guided walks taking place at Lydiard Park, log on to www.lydiardpark.org.uk.
