AWARD-winning restaurateur Arju Miah has opened a new restaurant in the town.
Miah’s has now opened to the public at Shaw Ridge Leisure Park following a guest only evening on Monday when the mayors of Swindon, Chippenham, Malmesbury and Royal Wootton Bassett attended.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Robert Lawton, said: “I love cooking but I must admit that I’m no chef. The cuisine is excellent and I’m sure the restaurant will attract a good clientele.”
Swindon Mayor Mick Bray said: “I congratulate Arju on opening another important business in our community. There is no doubt Miah’s will be a popular venue.”
South Swindon MP Robert Buckland said Mr Miah’s work in building good community relations should be recognised and his commitment to integrating the Bangladeshi community into Swindon life was very important.
