FOOTBALL mad Alan Wilson will be flying the flag for Swindon and the Adver as he prepares to diary his experiences of the Euros from Poland and Ukraine.

Alan has visited stadiums from Euro 2000 in Holland and Belgium, Euro 2004 in Portugal, World Cup 2006 in Germany and Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland on his journey. The 49-year-old from Nythe is also a member of The 92 Club, which means he has visited all grounds in the Premiership and Football League.

Now Alan is preparing for the tournament, which kicks off today, where he will see seven games in total: England-France, England-Sweden, England-Ukraine and Portugal-Holland.

Alan will be taking his England flag with the Swindon Town club crest in the middle, which he will proudly put on display at every game and will also report back his experiences for the Adver.

“Football and visiting football stadiums is a passion in my life,” he said.

“I am really looking forward to it, this is the culmination of 12 months preparation.

“The fans are very passionate and the atmosphere at the stadiums are like nothing I have ever seen before.

“I am hoping England do well, the expectation is the lowest I have ever witnessed but maybe that will help them.”

Alan will be providing live updates of his experience of the championship in the Adver from next week.
