A LAW firm has helped a Wiltshire farm machinery specialist expand.

Lawyers from Royds Withy King in Swindon helped T H White take over a failing dealership in Hereford for an undisclosed sum, which was operated by J.G. Plant Limited up until it went into administration on 12 December.

The move to acquire the dealership, which specialises in tractors and other farming equipment, went down to the wire to secure the deal and save jobs.

Edward Chapman, an associate in Royds Withy King’s Corporate team, said: “This was a particularly rewarding deal to have been involved with, working round the clock to get the deal over the line to ensure the continuity of a well-established agricultural dealership and securing all 16 jobs at the Hereford site.

"We were delighted to work closely with the board of directors at T H WHITE and wish them every success with their ongoing expansion.”

Alex Scott, managing director at T H WHITE, said: “Adding the Hereford area to our agricultural machinery trading territory brings great opportunities.

"We are delighted to welcome the Hereford team to our company and will be working hard to maintain and grow the relationships with farmers and businesses throughout the region.”
