MORE than a dozen new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Swindon.
There have been 55 positive Covid-19 test results recorded around the borough in the last seven days - including 17 within the latest 24 hours - which is one fewer than the week before.
As of June 6, Swindon's infection rate was 21.6 cases per 100,000 population.
The government said a further 17 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 127,884.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government added that, as of 9am on Friday, there had been a further 8,125 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
