THERE have been 22 new coronavirus cases confirmed in Swindon within 24 hours.
The latest seven-day total shows 80 positive Covid-19 test results recorded around the borough, which is 23 more than the week before - a rise of 40 per cent.
Swindon's infection rate as of June 9 is 24.3 cases per 100,000 population.
The government said a further three people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 127,907.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government added that, as of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 7,742 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
