THE English Football Association has confirmed the suspension of all non-elite football from November 5 to December 2 as the national lockdown comes into effect.

The suspension includes fixtures and training for steps three to six of the National League System and feeder leagues, women's tiers three to seven and all youth & adult outdoor and indoor football.

National League South/North is the lowest tier of men's English football that is being allowed to continue, therefore Chippenham Town will not be affected by the news.

The FA did however confirm that all FA Cup first round ties will go ahead as the non-league clubs involved will be able to take part under elite protocols.

Therefore, Swindon Town v Darlington at the County Ground will still go ahead as scheduled.

However, 'non-elite' teams in this weekend's FA Cup first round, such as Darlington, will play under 'elite' conditions but will not be able to train after Wednesday, November 4.

The Football Association will make an announcement on their plans for the FA Trophy, FA Vase, Women's FA Cup and FA Youth Cup in due course.
