Just because something has already been used once doesn’t mean it is gone forever.

I read this week that elephant dung collected at Longleat Safari Park is being used to make paper.

After hearing that I’ve stopped licking envelopes but it shows that things can have a second life.

The theme of second chances has been strong as we saw former Prime Minister Boris Johnson be interviewed by Nadine Dorries for TalkTV.

As political interviews go it was up there with Frost vs Nixon, if that were more of a dating show format.

It’s true to say she went easy on him but they’re both Conservative Members of Parliament.

There was always going to be bias.

It’s like asking me to write my own comedy reviews.

I’d say I’m great. I’m just as biased with a self-assessment form.

One of the facts we learned about our former PM is that he now spends his time painting cows.

I hope he means painting pictures of cows but it’s equally possible he’s learning how to do an undercoat and emulsion on a Holstein Friesian.

A few days later Liz Truss was back in the news.

She wrote an essay for the Telegraph showing that she has been having a long, hard think about what happened when she was Prime Minister and now she’s worked out who to blame so that she was right all along.

It’s a technique I will be using in my marriage.

The next time I do something that makes it harder for us to meet our monthly bills I’ll blame it on the left-wing economic establishment.

Who would have thought that bankers, traders and hedge fund types were all part of a left-wing establishment?

Seeing Boris Johnson and Liz Truss back in the news felt like one of those Doctor Who episodes where they bring back previous Doctors.

Boris Johnson has something of the Colin Baker about him and I suppose Liz Truss is Paul McGann.

He wasn’t in the job for long and he was fighting the left-wing economic establishment.

I may have misremembered the end of that film.

At this rate I’m expecting Gordon Brown to be in The Masked Singer.

This latest trend for comebacks that no one was asking for has made me think.

It’s been quite a while since I was on the breakfast show on GWR fm and no one seems to be missing it but if everyone else gets a come back maybe I should too.

The only thing stopping me is the early starts and the fact that I’ve printed off the letter but I really don’t want to lick the envelope.
