SHEFFIELD Wednesday are pondering whether to make a formal approach for Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper to become their assistant manager, according to reports in Yorkshire this morning.
Championship side the Owls are believed to be on the verge of appointing Portuguese Carlos Carvalhal as their new head coach, but have reportedly sounded out Cooper about joining the new-look management team at Hillsborough.
The Sheffield Star claimed Carvalhal had agreed personal terms with Wednesday to become their new boss but while there have been a number of recent reports claiming tentative enquiries had been made towards Cooper, it is thought the Town boss isn't keen on trading his current role for that of an assistant boss.
However, the Star reported that Wednesday were now mulling over whether to make a formal approach for Cooper, who is under contract at the County Ground.
Cooper, who took over as manager two years ago, led Town to the League One play-off final last season.
