SWINDON Town chairman Lee Power has promised that his business in the transfer market is not over, despite marking the start of the season with three new arrivals.

Having only brought in three players since the window opened, Power doubled the number of people through the door at the County Ground in two days.

Michael Doughty was brought in on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers in time to start in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Coventry City at the County Ground.

Then, Liverpool defender Lloyd Jones’ season-long loan move was confirmed on Saturday, along with the permanent signing of Luke Norris from Gillingham for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £150,000, with Town apparently beating off competition from League One rivals Bradford City.

However, despite the flurry of incomings, Power has said that his chequebook may not be closed just yet and has called from patience from fans.

“We ain’t finished yet,” Power told BBC Wiltshire.

“We’re still looking to bring in a couple more but I’ll do it at the right time.

“I’m not going to bring in someone. We don’t want to appease one per cent of lunatics.

“We’ll do another striker before the window closes and we are looking at that at the moment and we’ll probably do another defender.

“They are the two areas we are looking at and maybe, depending on whether one goes and one comes in, another midfielder.

“We have got targets.

“The problem is, if you go through probably the majority of the league, they are very light at the moment – we are and Coventry are.

“It’s because of the way the loan system has changed and the Euros. All the big teams are holding onto their players and that is why you have got to hold your nerve.”

However, fans hoping for the return of either Jack Stephens or Jordan Turnbull to the County Ground might be disappointed.

“I can’t see the thing with Jack. It looks like he is going to go to Holland and play,”

“Jordan is a player who has done well but he has been here twice and we’re not sure whether it fits in with the way his career is going to go.

“He is a player we love but it’ll be that type of player anyway that we need to bring in.”
