SWINDON Supermarine have announced fixtures against League Two clubs Newport County and Forest Green Rovers as part of their pre-season schedule.
However, there is no date pencilled in at this stage for what has become their annual curtain-raiser with Swindon Town.
Dave Webb’s side will start their preparations for the 2017/18 campaign in Southern League Division One South & West with a home game against National League South side Gloucester City on Tuesday, July 11.
Marine then play host to Michael Flynn’s Newport on Saturday, July 15, before facing former front man Luke Hopper, who will be part of a Hungerford Town team heading to Wiltshire on Tuesday, July 18.
Webb’s troops only have one away game in their schedule at present as they travel the short distance to Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday, July 22, before home games with Banbury United and Mark Cooper’s Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, July 29, and Monday, July 31, respectively.
Marine are hopeful of also welcoming David Flitcroft and his Swindon side to the Webbswood Stadium, but a date is yet to be confirmed, with another fixture in the week before Supermarine are set to start their competitive season on Saturday, August 12, still to be arranged as well.
