Adver Sport's Harry Abbott hands out his player ratings following Swindon Town's 2-1 win away at Carlisle United.
LAWRENCE VIGOUROUX – 7
Could do nothing about Carlisle’s goal but made some other decent stops to keep his side in front.
BEN PURKISS – 6
Unsurprisingly, Town opted to work much of their play down the opposite flank but was a cool head when needed, if a little short of pace.
OLLY LANCASHIRE – 8
A solid performance at the back and ushered out any danger when it arose. Influential performance from the new skipper.
DION CONROY – 7
Worked nicely off Lancashire and held up well against Carlisle’s front line. A strong partnership in the making.
CHRIS HUSSEY – 7
A real weapon down the left and looked to get forward where possible. Delivered some dangerous set-pieces too.
JAMES BROPHY – 7
Lively on the right and sent some tempting balls into the Carlisle box. May feel unfortunate to be replaced on the hour.
AMINE LINGANZI – 6
Broke up play nicely at times in the middle of the park but his distribution to team-mates could have been improved.
JAMES DUNNE – 6
A terrier like performance in the middle of the park. Seemed quite but was doing a lot of the unnoticed dirty work.
JOHN GODDARD – 7
Was a willing runner and showed some nice touches in attacking, with a rasping strike setting up Town’s second goal.
PAUL MULLIN – 9
Seemed to be at the heart of all of the visitors’ attacks and showed a great poacher’s instinct to get his side’s second goal.
LUKE NORRIS – 8
An improved presence up top. Put his body on the line for the goal and will be devastated it also led to the end of his afternoon.
Substitutes:
HARRY SMITH – 5
His size meant he was a useful target for the visitors but looked a little off the pace.
ELLIS IANDOLO – 5
Tried to get involved but the situation of the game stifled Town’s attacking intent and was withdrawn late on. Booked.
CONOR THOMAS – 5
Brought in to see out the final few minutes but no time to make a real impression.
Subs not used: Will Henry, Chris Robertson, Tom Smith, Scott Twine.
