SAM Packer's first-half goal gave Royal Wootton Bassett Town their first Hellenic League Premier Division win of the campaign tonight as Brackley Town Saints were defeated at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.
But Fairford were left counting the cost of a missed penalty as they were turned over 2-1 at home by Lydney Town in the Hellenic League Premier Division tonight.
Keelan Hamblett gave Lydney the lead in the opening half but Lee Smith then saw his Fairford penalty saved by Lydney's Max Harris before Dan Barnard gave the visitors a two-goal cushion.
Ben Saunders scored from the spot to halve winless Fairford's deficit as they sank to the bottom of the table.
