WHILE it was frustrating that our meeting with Wolverhampton was called off on Monday evening, it did allow me to recover from a crash I had on Friday when I was racing for Lakeside.

I have struggled a little bit since Friday. I was coming round the first bend and someone clipped my back wheel, which sent me off the bike.

There was no damage to me, it was just bruising, but there was a bit of damage to the bike.

I’m back to normal now, I just shook myself off - it was one of the biggest crashes I’ve had since the one I had last year.

I got back on the bike on Sunday to race in my Great Britain U21 semi-final in Eastbourne, which I was able to win.

Racing for Great Britain is a little bit different to racing for a club because you’re there as an individual.

You have to set yourself up a little bit differently and, obviously, you can’t help the weather or the conditions of the track.

It’s one of those where you want it to be on because otherwise you’d have to go back there and do it again. You just have to get on with it.

With Swindon, we have Leicester at the Abbey Stadium this evening.

Everyone looks at them and knows they have a good team, they have got some world class riders.

I’m not fussed with how the track will be, even though it’s been damp in Swindon, as long as the meeting is on.
