KATIE Warren has carded a notable double at Wrag Barn's club championships.

Warren, who recently graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, where she received a full scholarship to play for their women’s golf team, shot a course record gross 66 in her first round on ladies championship day at the Highworth club.

A week later she then clinched victory against the men in the overall club championship, lifting the title for a second time.

Warren, who has been playing golf for 16 years since starting aged six, and came up through Wrag Barn's junior ranks.

She added to her impressive list of achievements while in America, claiming NAIA All American First Team honours and American Mid-West Conference (AMC) First Team honours, was the AMC Conference 2018 champion and claimed the school record for most individual tournament wins.

She said: "Everyone at Wrag Barn are extremely supportive.

"The owners, Tim and Verity Manners, the general manager Tracey Lee and the senior and ladies sections make it such a friendly club to be able to go practise and play at.

"I am currently being coached by Ian Ridsdale who has been incredible to work with. He has not only helped me to transform my golf game over the last nine years, but he has also helped me to grow as a player, especially during my time over in the States.''
