SWINDON Town Ladies coach Dan Jones insists his side must start making the most of the chances presented to them, following Sunday’s 2-1 Women’s National League Plate loss at home to Bedworth United.

A series of missed opportunities cost Ladies as Bedworth United came from behind to record victory at Fairford.

Ladies took the lead through Milly Colford midway through the opening half before Bedworth’s Shanice Walsh equalised.

Kirsty Farnsworth then netted for United in the second half, a goal which proved enough for the visitors to make cup progress.

With a trip to Chesham facing Town’s ladies this weekend, Jones is keen to correct his side’s errors in front of goal sooner rather than later.

He said: “I’m a bit torn to be honest, we could’ve been two or three goals behind in the first half. But ultimately, we felt like we should have been leading.

“We have a problem with putting the ball in the net at the moment.

“It was tough, the girls have performed well again but there are always going to be things you can work and improve on.

“But overall we felt like we were the better side.

“We want to be finding the back of the net when we get into strong situations.

“We need to be more clinical in front of goal.

“At the moment it’s our ability to finish that’s costing us.”
