The year is nearly over and boxing fans have seen some tremendous fights in 2018. A number of great bouts have taken place around the globe nearly every week. Great Britain’s Anthony Joshua fought in two high-profile bouts with both ending in wins.

Here are the fights boxing fans can expect to go down in 2019.
Eleider Alvarez vs.Sergey Kovalev II
In August 2018, Eleider Alavez defeated Sergey Kovalev in the seventh round to win the WBO and IBA Light Heavyweight titles. The two fighters will touch gloves again on February 2nd in Frisco, Texas when Alverez puts the WBO belt on the line. Viewers can go to Genting Bet to get the latest odds on the bout. The rematch was set to take place in December 2018, however, fight network provider HBO balked at broadcasting a second bout between the duo. ESPN agreed to air the fight in September and now Kovalev has the chance to regain the WBO strap.
Anthony Joshua vs. TBA
Anthony Joshua is set to fight in April 2019 at Wembley. The heavyweight champion’s last fight (which took place at Wembley in September) saw him defeat Alexander Povetkin in seven rounds. Now, 22-0, Joshua could face off with Wilder in his next Wembley appearance.
However, Wilder will need to get past Fury in December as fight fans may not be interested in the American taking on Joshua if he loses to Fury. Regardless of which fighter Joshua battles, British boxing fans will be backing the Olympic gold medallist to win.
Oleksandr Usyk vs. Dillian Whyte/Dereck Chisora
Oleksandr Usyk took his professional record to 16-0 on November 10th when he knocked out Tony Bellew. The Ukrainian fighter retained the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, The Ring, and lineal cruiserweight titles with the win. Rumours are already circulating that Usyk with take on Joshua in an extremely lucrative fight down the line. He will need to take the step up to heavyweight to do so. However, reports indicate Usyk isn’t ready for Joshua just yet. Dillian Whyte or Dereck Chisora could be lined up for Usyk before a fight with Joshua. If Usyk does square off with Joshua, it could be during the latter half of 2019 rather than in April when the British boxer’s next Wembley fight is scheduled.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Floyd Mayweather hasn’t been bashful about fighting mix martial artist Khabib Nurmagomedov. The boxer is looking for a similar payday to the one he received in 2017 against Conor McGregor. Despite Khabib being a big draw in UFC, his recent fight against McGregor drew 2.4 million buys, it is difficult to believe the MMA man and Mayweather could create interest to entice fans like Mayeather and McGregor did. In fact, many of the UFC fans who bought UFC 229 tuned in to watch McGregor return to the octagon. Mayweather and Khabib will probably draw money – if it happens – but will the general public care in 2019 about the bout?
