SWINDON Shock marked their return to action after a month-long break with an 87-75 victory away at Barking Abbey in National Division Three South.

David Colclough’s side took control of the match with dominant spells in quarters two and three to make it six wins from eight league games this season for third place in the league table.

Mantas Kmita led the way for Swindon, racking up 28 points in a classy performance, while Matt Ford and Matt North chipped in with 17 and 15 respectively.

Swindon were forced to come from behind to claim victory, with Barking Abbey building up a 22-15 lead in the first quarter.

However, the visitors found their range in the second period and had turned the contest around to take a 44-39 advantage into half-time.

Shock continued that momentum in the third session and out-scored their hosts 55-33 over the middle two periods to firmly take control of the contest.

Although Barking Abbey were able to slightly pull back their 70-55 deficit over the final quarter, Swindon were still well clear by the time the final buzzer sounded.

Shock are on the road again this weekend and travel to third-from-bottom Cardiff Met Archers on Saturday.
