SWINDON Supermarine Development edged a nine-goal thriller in the Swindon & District League’s Premier Division as they beat Ashton Keynes 5-4 thanks to a last-minute winner.

Despite going behind twice early on, Sam Long and Cameron Shrubb netted levellers for Marine.

Kyle Bowyer added a third before Long headed in his second of the afternoon to make it 4-3 to Marine at half-time.

Another Ashton Keynes equaliser occurred, but in the 90th minute, debutant Phil Ryan grabbed the winner for the hosts.

Marine manager Tony Prinzi said: “It was a good performance, and the lads worked hard.

“Both teams played well – there were chances at both ends.

“To come back from a goal down twice was great. Fair play to Ashton Keynes, they did the same thing when pulling it back to 4-4.

“It’s always nice to win a game in the last minute.

“They’re a good strong side, they’re in the semi-finals of the cup too – I wish them well in that – and they beat us earlier in the season, so it’s nice to get our three points back.”

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Ruby Removals racked up their eighth win of the season thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Bakers Arms, while second-placed Stratton Juniors comfortably dispatched Marlborough Town Reserves 9-0.

Wheatsheaf Stratton picked up a 2-0 win away at FC Dorcan to keep the pressure on the top two.

In Division One, Village Inn collected their third league win of the season following a comprehensive 8-3 win against Swindon Centurians.

Near the top, Highworth Town Development and Wroughton Reserves played out a competitive 3-3 draw as they held on to their respective league positions.

In Division Two, leaders Redhouse picked up a 2-0 win away at Priory Vale.

Second-placed Swindon AFC won 3-1 win away to Moredon, while Spectrum disposed of FC Abbeymeads with an 8-3 win.
