Steven Benda – 7

Admittedly had very little to do in goal, only a couple of easy saves to make. But marshalled Town’s back four brilliantly.

Paul Caddis – 8

Vision to pick out Woolery from a throw in prior to Doyle’s goal was inspired. Solid in the left back role, dealt with the hosts’ height well.

Mathieu Baudry – 7.5

Solid character in defence who made no mistake. Didn’t allow Grimsby to have a genuine sight on goal by winning a series of headers from long balls forward.

Zeki Fryers – 7.5

Like Baudry, a solid display that cannot be faulted. Has done well to play a key role in Town’s back four having dropped down the tiers in recent years.

Rob Hunt – 7.5

Brilliant movement down the right wing and vision also to pick out runs of players ahead of him. Touch was good, an all round solid display.

Anthony Grant – 8

Work rate and commitment was again noticeable. Bossed the midfield, picked out key passes and played the pantomime villain in front of a hostile home crowd.

Jordan Lyden – 7.5

A calming figure in midfield who didn’t make as big a mark as teammates Doughty and Grant but was still solid nonetheless.

Michael Doughty – 8

Numerous eye-catching runs into the penalty area and delivered the cross for Swindon’s first goal. Seems to have returned to his best after a lull.

Kaiyne Woolery – 8

Worked the right wing very well, and great awareness from a throw-in to spark Swindon’s first goal. Should have done enough to retain his shirt amid Isgrove’s return from fitness.

Jerry Yates – 9

Fortunate to score his deflected first goal, but second strike cannot be questioned. Brilliant work rate, a real asset to the squad.

Eoin Doyle – 8

His eighth game on the spin where the back of the net has been found. Clinical finish from a tough position, though aided by a goalkeeping blunder.
