Midfield duo Scott Twine and Matt Palmer could be in line for a January return, says assistant Tommy Wright.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's match against MK Dons, Wright revealed the players could return from League Two Newport and League One rivals Wigan next month.

He said: "There's a good chance both will come back.

"I've mentioned Scott before because, last time, it was important for his development to be playing regular football and he's gone out and done very well.

"Probably, he needs to come back and I know he's a big Swindon fan who loves being here and loves playing here so it'll be nice to have him back.

"He's one of my favourites."

If Twine does return to the club, Wright insisted he won't be able to walk into the starting line-up.

He added: "If he comes back, obviously we're at a higher level so he has to prove his worth.

"He's definitely got the technical ability and he's got a goal in him as well, so we just have to see, John has to decide about other transfers coming as well so there's a good chance Scott will come back.

"Tactically he's quite good, he finds space and his shooting ability is probably his best asset.

"He's very determined to score goals and he practices thoroughly all the time."
