OFFICIAL Supporters Club chair, Pete Norris shares his thoughts on all the latest regarding Swindon Town, including recent results, the month to come, and discussions with the club around season tickets.

There really is hardly ever a dull moment being a Town fan. From the depths of despair on learning we had sent Matt Smith back to Arsenal and lost Diallang Jaiyesimi right at the last minute; to going on to take seven points from nine, including a fully deserved point at then-League One leaders Lincoln City. We are really being put through the wringer!

Even Tuesday night’s defeat came with some positives, with an all-round solid display and only the crossbar stopping us from taking what would have been a well-earned point.

Now we move onto a tough trip against Accrington Stanley, who arguably have been the most impressive side we’ve seen (on TV) at the County Ground this season, and then the Tuesday night derby against you-know-who.

We’ve also got the re-arranged Bristol Rovers game this month too, so be prepared for some more of the same highs and lows!

Off the field, we received a welcome request from Steve Anderson, Chief Executive of the club, to engage with them with respect to season tickets.

After canvassing our membership (thanks to everyone who replied to our email) we collated all the responses, which have now been sent back to the club.

It was clear from the replies that the subject of season tickets and the lack of communication around them this season is a sensitive subject to everyone, so as well as summarising your ideas, we also anonymised them and included everyone’s individual replies.

We thought it was really important for the club to see exactly how people were feeling on this subject.

In due course, we expect to meet with both the club and TrustSTFC to work through these responses.

We’ve been asked about the overall feeling of the fanbase around season tickets – whilst we want to work this through with the parties mentioned above, it is clear that there is no simple solution.

Whilst a number of fans would be happy with some type of discount on a future season ticket, for example, for others their personal situation has changed, and therefore a refund would be preferable.

Others still are concerned about the future of the club, and do not want to be the reason for the club going into even more dire financial difficulty.

Be assured that once we’ve met with the club, we will be communicating, in conjunction with TrustSTFC, the outcome of the meeting.

All the best, Pete.
