SWINDON Town Football Club and The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats have teamed up to produce a joint-ticket deal for games over the next few days.

Supporters will have the chance to watch a Town match for 50 per cent off on Tuesday night while the Wildcats' game can be viewed at a discounted rate as the pair aim to build links and hopefully boost attendances at both clubs.

The Wildcats welcome fierce rivals Milton Keynes Lightning to the Link Centre in the National Ice Hockey League on Sunday (6:30pm face-off) before Town host struggling Walsall at the County Ground in League Two on Tuesday night (7:45pm kick-off).

Fans who are subscribed to both clubs’ email lists will receive an exclusive discount code which can be used when booking tickets.

In a statement from the Wildcats, the ice hockey team said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the quality of sports in Swindon as well as to get more of the community involved in attending both sports.”

Meanwhile, Swindon Town CEO Rob Angus said: “We are really pleased to be working with Swindon Wildcats to offer our supporters the chance to watch two great sporting events and support their local teams.

“We are keen to build up links with the Wildcats and to encourage our supporters to get behind their local ice hockey team.

“As someone who has grown up in Swindon, it’s always great to see thriving sports clubs across the Town, and we hope that after cheering on the Wildcats some of those supporters can get behind Town on Tuesday.”

Wildcats head coach Aaron Nell echoed many of Angus’ thoughts on the blossoming partnership.

He said: “I’m really excited to be working with Swindon Town on this.

“I think it’s important for the town to have the sports teams link up, and it’s great opportunity to get more of the local community to experience what a great atmosphere we have here in Swindon.

“I hope to see a lot of fans come down before the football and cheer us on against MK!”
