SWINDON Town forward Harry McKirdy is on the verge of completing a move to Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, Adver Sport understands.

McKirdy travelled up to Edinburgh on Wednesday night with a view to finalising personal terms and completing a medical on Thursday.

Personal terms are now said to have been agreed, and the deal hinges on McKirdy completing a medial with Hibs early on Thursday afternoon.

The Scotsman is reporting that a fee for the 25-year-old has been agreed between the two clubs, and that the move should be completed "well before Thursday night's 11pm deadline."

McKirdy is said to have been a target for Hibs boss Lee Johnson all summer, with interest in the forward first reported days after Town's League Two play-off campaign came to a shuddering halt.

The interest in McKirdy appeared to have ended as the 2022-23 campaign kicked off, but it re-emerged inside the final weeks of the window.

The departure of former Forest Green Rovers striker Christian Doidge - on loan to Kilmarnock - helped pave the way for McKirdy's arrival, and the 25-year-old should take over goal-scoring responsibilities from now on.

McKirdy, who has scored two goals in five outings so far this season, will leave Swindon having made 49 appearances and netted 25 goals with 10 assists.

His contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, therefore the summer window was the last opportunity to receive a worthwhile fee for their enigmatic forward.
