SUPERMARINE will attempt to make it 10 league games unbeaten this afternoon when they host old rivals Bashley at Hunts Copse.

Mark Collier's men set a new club record last week when they beat Corby Town 2-0 to stretch their unbeaten Southern League sequence to nine matches.

Bashley look strong favourites to secure a play-off berth as they currently occupy fifth place in the Premier Division table, but that won't stop Collier aiming for a perfect 10 when the two sides clash in Swindon.

The Marine boss said: "Bashley walked the league last year. They had it sewn up about five games before the end of the season.

"We know they are a very well organised side with plenty of good attacking players.

"But we've gone nine matches unbeaten now, which is not be scoffed at in this league, so we must take a lot of confidence from that."

Collier admits he would love to emulate what Bashley have achieved in their first season in the top flight, but for now the manager is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

And with relegation fears all but banished for this season, it would appear there is no need for a resurrection at Hunts Copse this Easter.

Said Collier: "We must first learn to walk before we can run in this league.

"We were 7/4 favourites to get relegated at the start of the season, so consolidation was obviously our aim.

"If someone had offered me 48 points before Easter I would have bitten their hand off."

Captain Kyle Lapham starts his two-match suspension today, which rules him out of the trip to rivals Gloucester City on Thursday night.

Richard Kear is expected to shake off a hip injury to play, while fellow front man Jason Welch is also in contention.

Midfielder Simon Heal could feature for the first time since he hobbled off against Rugby Town six weeks ago, but playmaker Chris Taylor is at least another week away from a return.

It is an important Easter Monday for Chippenham Town and Cirencester Town in the Premier Division, but for very different reasons.

Chippenham need to consolidate their play-off position with victory over Gloucester City this afternoon after Good Friday turned bad for them at Merthyr Tydfil.

Cirencester Town have it all to do to avoid relegation. They travel to Hemel Hempstead still smarting from Saturday's 6-2 thumping at the hands of King's Lynn.
