A new manager has been appointed for Bradford Town FC.

Jamie Jordan was appointed on Sunday, November 27 as the new first-team manager  and brings his coaching team of Chris Carr, Rob Simmonds and Nick Hoskins-Jones to Trowbridge Road.

The young gaffer started out as manager of Trowbridge Town FC’s first team playing in the Wiltshire Football League.

Bradford Town FC is in the Hellenic League Premier Division team and recently lost Manager Lee Davidson and Assistant Manager Jamie Lyons who resigned from their positions on Sunday, November 13.

In a video interview, the newly-appointed manager thanked the club for his appointment and said: “I only started my management career 18 months ago at Trowbridge Town.

“Stepping up two leagues now is going to be a massive challenge, but one me and the rest of the management team are up for.

“We like to think we bring a wealth of knowledge in local football and I think we bring that kind of relatability back to the people around the club, the players, and obviously the fans.”

He outlined his objective for the remainder of the season to be stability: “Team has been ripped apart a little but recently but there are still some real talents, mostly young players within the squad.

“It’ll now be a case, from now and until the end of the season, to be stabilising the club in terms of the team, bringing some players in.

“There may be some casualties out but we’ll have to see how that goes.”

He concluded: “Like I said: stabilising until the end of the season and then pushing on in the summer when we can settle down.”

The 30-year-old also acknowledged starting mid-season will be a challenge:

“Obviously taking any job mid-season, it’s like going back to kindergarten you’re going to have to learn everyone’s names, what they’re like and their motives for playing football.

“It’s going to be a whirlwind but it’s what we have to do.”

"The way the club has been run previously has probably been a bit unsustainable so it’s just a case of settling down now, and achieving some realistic goals.”

Jordan believes his age will bring “relatability” to the players: “Still being 30 years old, I still play now and again, I can relate to the younger players.”

The ex-Trowbridge Town FC manager also gave a heartfelt statement on Twitter about his departure from the club: “You’d have to search far and wide to find a guy who loves TTFC as much as I do.”

He thanked “unsung heroes at the football club”, the players and the bees fans and recognised it was time for him to “pursue new opportunities”.

“I leave the club in the best shape it has been for many years,” he wrote.

Trowbridge Town FC has not yet released a statement about the appointment of a new first-team manager.
