JONNY Williams and Charlie Austin head a list of up to 14 Swindon Town players who could leave the club in the summer.

The future of three players are unknown with undisclosed-length deals, while a further four are likely to return to their respective loan outfits, meaning it could well be another busy summer of recruitment for the club – no matter which division Town end up in.

As the season of negotiations begins, Adver Sport have rounded up the known contract length of every senior member in Swindon’s squad and predicts what will happen to those with uncertain futures.

2023 - Cian Harries, Mathieu Baudry, George McEachran (with one-year option), Jonny Williams, Charlie Austin, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy (with one-year option), Marcel Lavinier (with one-year option), Tom Brewitt (with one-year option after X number of games).

Cian Harries and Mathieu Baudry are both currently out with long-term injuries and are unlikely to be rewarded with new deals to extend their time in Wiltshire. Baudry had previously toyed with the idea of retiring, and at 34 years old, coming back from a ruptured ACL will be no mean feat.

Should McEachran reach anywhere near the level of form Jody Morris knows he is capable of, that one-year extension clause will be triggered well before May. I would hope Hepburn-Murphy and Minturn will be given the chance to stay. I fear the chances of Williams pulling on a Town shirt next season are quite slim, while Austin's future is likely to depend on the player's own wishes.

LOAN - Sol Brynn, Ciaran Brennan, Joe Tomlinson (with option to buy), Dylan Kadji, Luke Jephcott.

Brynn, Brennan, Kadji, and Jephcott will almost certainly be thanked and waved back to their parent clubs after varying levels of success in Wiltshire. If Tomlinson can produce similar levels to his first spell once he returns to full fitness, that temporary switch will become permanent.

2024 - Ellis Iandolo, Frazer Blake-Tracy, Tom Clayton, Reece Devine, Remeao Hutton, Harrison Minturn, Ronan Darcy, Tyrese Shade, Tomi Adeloye, Saidou Khan.

If I’m the owner, I’m throwing a decent amount of money at Tom Clayton in a bid to convince the 22-year-old to sign a new deal. A contract length similar to Wakeling would be great, but any extension would count as a win, in my eyes.

2025 - Ricky Aguiar, Jake Cain, Anton Dworzak.

Next season has to be Aguiar’s time if he is to blossom at Swindon. Cain looks to be a solid midfield player for the future.

Dworzak recently signed his first pro deal with the club.

2026 - Jacob Wakeling.

After a strong start and a mammoth new contract, Wakeling has tailed off. I’m sure after a bit of time away from the starting XI, he will come back better than before.

UNKNOWN - Conor Brann, Jack Copland, Oscar Massey.

The length of these players’ deals have not been disclosed. One would assume the goalkeepers’ contracts expire in 2023, and the same could be said for Massey.
