SWINDON Town head coach Jody Morris has revealed yet another season-ending injury for one of his players.

Sheffield Wednesday loanee Ciaran Brennan will not play for Town again this term following a shoulder injury he sustained against Harrogate Town a fortnight ago.

Brennan joins Mathieu Baudry, Ellis Iandolo, and Reece Devine on the list of defenders who will miss at least the remaining two months of this term with a physical problem.

News of the Owls loanee’s fate arrived on the same day that Joe Tomlinson rolled his ankle in training and could miss more time as well.

Discussing the latest in a long line of injury issues for Swindon, Morris said: “We’re in the hands of Sheffield Wednesday with Ciaran Brennan. They’ve decided to make the call on surgery for him. He’s out for the season.

“But I feel like a broken record here. Every week there is something.

“I thought we’d got past that on Thursday with Marcel [Lavinier] coming back.

"But then we go into training the next day and we’ve got poor Joe who’s blocked a shot in training and ends up rolling his ankle.

“It’s difficult to take, but it’s all I’ve known since I’ve been here.”

Going on to explain more about Tomlinson’s issue, Morris said: “He’s got a swollen ankle. He blocked a shot in training, and sometimes when your ankle is loose, you end up rolling it when you come down.

“It’s certainly swollen and sore, but the diagnosis over how bad it is and how long he might be out, it’s too early to tell yet.

“It’s just another chapter in the defensive injury department for us.”
