SWINDON Town head coach Jody Morris has been handed a triple fitness boost ahead of his side’s League Two clash with Stockport County at the County Ground on Saturday.

The Town head coach revealed in his pre-match press conference that George McEachran would almost certainly be in the squad to face the Hatters after coming off against Rochdale with a calf problem.

Meanwhile, defensive options Frazer Blake-Tracy and Joe Tomlinson could also join the midfielder in the match-day 18 after taking part in full training for the first time in a number of weeks following injuries of their own.

Explaining that late decisions would need to be made by the medical department on Blake-Tracy and Tomlinson’s respective selections, Morris said: “George is alright, thankfully.

“Not quite sure what happened in the game, to be honest, with his calf-stroke-Achilles, but thankfully it’s nothing and he’s been able to take part in training this week.

“As far as other injuries, there are no new ones. Joe Tomlinson has taken part in training, so there will be a decision made on whether he can be involved or not.

“Him and Frazer [Blake-Tracy] have stepped up their training this week and have taken part in full sessions.

“There will be a decision made on both of them as to whether they can take part in the game this weekend.”

A key component in Swindon’s defence and potentially a significant reason why the number of goals conceded at set-pieces has gone up recently, Morris admitted it would be a real coup to have the former Burton Albion defender back to help take on a physical Stockport side.

Morris said: “If Frazer can be involved, it’s a huge lift. I said right at the start of his spell out that we’d lost a defender of his calibre and the leadership qualities he brings, plus the fact he doesn’t mind putting his head on it in both boxes.

“If he can be involved – as long as he’s fit enough and OK to be involved – then he’ll be a huge boost.

“These types of players – your Frazers and your Saidou Khans – they’re huge, huge misses. Not just from a leadership and experience aspect, but also in terms of quality too.

“When you miss players of that ilk in the group that we have, you’re going to notice them not being there a hell of a lot.”
