SWINDON Town head coach Jody Morris felt his side looked 'fragile' as they suffered late heartbreak at the hands of Hartlepool United on Saturday.

The Robins led after four minutes thanks to Rushian Hepburn-Murphy's crisp 20-yard strike, but their hosts staged a stunning turnaround through Connor Jennings' 88th-minute equaliser and Ollie Finney's even later winner four minutes into stoppage time.

And Morris thought his side's fragility at times led to his side's downfall after the interval.

He said: "I thought we looked fragile as a group, we lost shape.

"Eventually, because of the prodding they were doing at our defensive area, we faltered and they obviously got the equaliser.

"And unfortunately for us, with what's gone on recently, in games where we've conceded late, they then looked like the team that was gonna get the next goal, and evidently they did."

It had started well for the visitors, with Hepburn-Murphy's excellent goal proving the springboard for a dominant first half against a side battling relegation.

The visitors played a game of two halves - consummate in the first, but sloppy in the second.

Morris felt his side were rarely threatened in the opening 45 minutes, but lamented their performance after the break.

He said: "I felt they didn't offer much or threaten us too much in the first half, apart from one set piece.

"But in the second half, they started better than us - as soon as we had to do a little bit more defending, we looked like we didn't want to get on the ball and we stopped making the urgent angles that are needed to make passes at any level.

"We didn't move them about the pitch, and we took too many touches in midfield which ultimately led to too many mistakes."

The defeat leaves the Robins in 11th place in League Two - but whilst there is no movement in the table, they are now 12 points off Salford City in 7th with just eight games remaining.
