DESPITE a late postponement ending any chance of watching their team play, Swindon Town fans were still in full voice away at Colchester United on Saturday after kit man Jonah Isaacs led them in a chant.

Swindon's opening-day clash with Colchester was called off with less than 30 minutes until kick-off after heavy rain caused a waterlogged pitch at the JobServe Community Stadium.

As a result, the fixture became the first opening-day match in EFL history to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

But keen to show their thanks to every fan who had travelled, Swindon's entire first team and coaching staff walked over to the north stand and applauded the hundreds of supporters in attendance.

Just before the group turned away to head back down the tunnel, Isaacs - who is known for his love of singing after rising to notoriety with a Tom Odell hit - was encouraged to lead Town fans in a call-and-response chant by Frazer Blake-Tracy.

One half of Town's kit staff - the other being Steve Hooper - asked Swindon supporters to reply with a loud 'S' prior to spelling out the team's name.

In an all-but empty stadium, the hearty effort from both parties filled the north Essex air with some venom.
