SWINDON Town could be without both Jacob Wakeling and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy for the Robins’ League Two derby clash with Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night.

The pair of strikers have picked up short-term injuries and are not expected to make Michael Flynn’s squad for the midweek contest.

Wakeling was tackled heavily by Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper, Harry Davies in the first half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw, being withdrawn at half-time and reportedly seen leaving the stadium on crutches post-match.

Meanwhile, Hepburn-Murphy picked up a knock during Town’s League Cup exit to Peterborough United and has swelling on his right ankle which is taking time to reduce.

Providing a health update on his squad in Monday’s pre-match press conference, Flynn said: “Jacob is sore still, so he’s probably a doubt.

“He hasn’t broken anything; he had the x-ray come back positive. He’s just very, very sore and there will be a bit of swelling there. He’s been in on Monday.

“Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, it depends on what we’re able to do with him beforehand, he might be back. But that’s a big might.

“It’s a shame he’s out because he’s been full of confidence, he’s been listening to how we want him to play. We don’t want him coming short and not using his pace in behind.

“He’s taking his shots with either foot, and he has been in a really good form. We missed him on Saturday, but it gives somebody else the chance to come in and stake a claim.”

With Town a player short in the forward line, Flynn admitted he is unlikely to bring in reinforcements before Saturday’s away game against Wrexham.

Asked for an update on potential signings, Town’s boss said: “I am hopeful, but I’m not down the line with anybody at the moment.

“That’s as much as I know and as far as I am, but I am still looking, yes. It’s crucial we try and get a few more in as it’s a gruelling season.”
