FORMER Swindon Town hero Tom Broadbent scored an outrageous long-range goal for South Shields in their 1-0 win over Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.
Broadbent - who is best remembered for making a man-of-the-match contribution in Swindon's first victory over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium - blasted home from inside the centre circle in the National League North contest at the weekend.
Having collected the ball midway inside his own half at the 1st Cloud Arena, centre-back Broadbent skipped forward over the half-way line before any pressure arrived.
The left-footed man mountain let fly from considerable range but still managed to rifle his shot into the roof of the net past Scarborough goalkeeper, Ryan Whitley.
Despite the visitors hitting the post and piling the pressure on late, Broadbent went on to celebrate three points, a clean sheet, and a man-of-the-match award.
We've been trying to find the words to accompany this goal. But not many would do it justice, so just watch. And watch. And watch.
