One of Swindon Town’s stars has decided to prioritise the club and has dropped out of international duty.
Saidou Khan will remain with the club after a mutual agreement to withdraw from the latest Gambia national team squad.
The midfielder along with teammate Tyrese Shade had previously been called up earlier in the month for their respective nation’s sides.
Khan’s Gambia are set to face Burundi away on November 16 before facing Ivory Coast at home on November 19.
Shade’s St.Kitts and Nevis national team will be taking on St. Lucia on November 16 and Guadeloupe on November 19 in the Concacaf Nations League Campaign.
Because of these international fixtures, both players were set to miss Town’s trip to Harrogate Town on Saturday, November 18.
Khan’s latest decision means that he will now be eligible for selection for that away game in Yorkshire in just over a week's time.
The 27-year-old has had a decent start to Town’s 2023/24 campaign, making 15 appearances and assisting once.
Swindon are next in action on Saturday afternoon as they host league leaders Stockport County with kick-off set for 3pm.
