Dan Kemp has talked about his own feelings around a potential recall from his loan spell at Swindon Town by his parent club Milton Keynes Dons.

After featuring just five times in League One for MK Dons last season and spending the second half of it on loan at Hartlepool United, Kemp has become a revelation at the County Ground as he sits second in League Two for assists and joint ninth for goals.

Mike Williamson and Michael Flynn have both discussed the possibility of Kemp going back to Stadium MK in January, but neither party has made any concrete statement one way or the other.

Kemp said that he has loved his time playing in Wiltshire this season but is willing to accept any decision his parent club chooses to take.

He said: “I have spoken about it a few times, I am loving my time here, that is no secret, I love playing for this club, and I love the reception that I have had since I have walked in.

“But as I have spoken about, it is difficult for me because for whatever I want, it is down to the club [MK Dons] to make that decision.

“It is out of my control, and I have to be respectful to the club that I play for and respect the decision that they make.

“As I have said in many interviews in the time that I have been here, it has felt like a club that I love playing for.

“The supporters, the manager, the staff have been nothing but great for me, so I can’t thank everyone enough.

“Whilst I am here, for however long that will be, until January or the end of the season, we don’t know, but all that I can say is that I will give my best and you can see that from me every time I play.”

Teammate Charlie Austin referred to the player as being the “Best player in League 2 by a country mile” on X last week and Kemp said that it meant a lot to him to be thought of so highly by his teammates.

He said: “I saw the thing he [Austin] put up the other day and it was unbelievable to get support like that, not just from him, but all of the lads.

“I feel like I am a real vital member of the squad here and everyone is behind me, so it is lovely to hear things like that.”
