Swindon Town has secured the future of promising youngster Sonny Hart at the club.

Sonny Hart has agreed his first-ever professional deal with Swindon Town.

Joining Swindon in 2021 from Essex-based side, Southend United, Sonny has been a vital part of a defence that went eight games unbeaten in the league while reaching the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup.

Upon signing his first professional contract, Sonny Hart said: "A dream come true to sign my first professional contract with the club. The Under-18s had a great season last year with our FA Youth Cup run and our challenge in the league and I hope I can take this momentum into the next stage of my development."

"I have the opportunity to learn and be coached by Mark Kennedy who has had a fantastic career and see what my future holds now as a professional footballer."

Academy Manager, Alex Pike said: "Everyone in the academy is proud of Sonny and all that he has achieved through his scholarship with us, including key individual performances such as Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup."

"Sonny’s determination to develop himself on and away from the pitch will see him continue to grow as he makes the step into the first team environment, and makes him another role model player for our environment. Congratulations, Sonny."
