FANCY discussing tactics with Roberto Di Matteo, listening to Gianfranco Zola’s team talk or rubbing shoulders with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on the substitutes’ bench?

Christian Roberts will offer two fans the ultimate matchday experience as part of his testimonial match next Wednesday (kick off 7.05pm) between Swindon Legends and Chelsea Legends, which is also raising money for Cancer Research.

More than 1,000 tickets have already been snapped up for Roberts’ big night and every ticket that is sold before midday on the day of the game will be entered into a draw to spend all night at the heart of the action.

Roberts told the Advertiser: “There will be two winners and it will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them.

“They can mingle with the players, go into the dressing rooms, listen to the team talks, sit on the bench with the managers and substitutes.

“It’s a money-can’t-buy prize to see behind the scenes at a first team game. We will also sort out some sort of memorabilia as well - like a signed ball - to go with it.

“It’s doing something that won’t happen in Swindon ever again. And that’s no disrespect to Swindon, that’s just a fact. There won’t be a team of superstars like this coming to the town again.”

Roberts is also expecting to make his first foray into management as he gets set to take charge of the Chelsea Legends side on the night.

He said: “We want to keep the game as serious as possible, but I would love the opportunity to manage the Chelsea team and it’s something I’m still seriously considering doing.

“I can’t play in the game and don’t want to just be watching from the stands, so it’s the next best thing really.

“It would also be go up against Danny Wilson in the other dug-out, because I played under him at Bristol City and I would love the chance to do that.”

To be involved in the draw you must purchase a ticket before noon on Wednesday, February 11. Tickets are available from the County Ground box office, priced £12 for adults, £7 for youngsters aged seven-16, OAPs and disabled spectators, and £1 for under 7s.
