SHRIVENHAM made it three games unbeaten as they won 3-0 at struggling Hook Norton in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Mark Love and Alan Dyton’s side have recently made a welcome return to form and a Richie Saunders first-half double, sandwiching a goal from James Blake, ensured that continued.

Fairford Town began life without former manager John Paget on a losing note as they went down 5-3 at home to second-placed Almondsbury Town.

The Almonds raced into a 3-0 lead after 24 minutes as Marcus Mapstone, Ross Steam and Aaron Blakemore found the net.

Niall Hodgkins got one back for the hosts but ex-Chippenham Town defender Dale Peckham made it 4-1 two minutes after the interval.

John Hollis replied almost immediately and Hodgkins got his second on 70 minutes to make it 4-3, to leave the game hanging in the balance.

Sahr Kabba got the visitors’ fifth goal 10 minutes from time to make sure of the points.

Elsewhere, the games between Highworth and Kidlington and Malmesbury Vics and Abingdon Town were postponed.

In Division One West, Purton lost their third game this season as they were on the end of a 3-2 defeat at home to Easington Sports.

Tom Cadden gave Chris Pethick’s men a 28th-minute lead but Steve Howkins notched a hat-trick for Easington, completing it with a penalty in the 62nd minute.

Paul Day struck late on but Purton were unable to find an equaliser in the dying seconds. Meanwhile, Cirencester United were crushed 8-1 by Headington Amateurs, with Headington’s goals coming from Luke Cuff (3) Aftab Hafiz (2), Shaun Jacobs (2) and an own goal. Dave Griffin managing a consolation for Ciren.

Wootton Bassett’s encounter with Launton Sports and Cricklade’s match against Letcombe were postponed.
