WITH only two games surviving the bad weather in the Swindon & District League, it was left to the two top sides in Division One to entertain.
Second-placed Crumpled Horn duly delivered with a fantastic 13-2 win away to Ramsbury, as Jason Lewis bagged four and Richie Baker-Miles notched a hat-trick.
Andrew Gardiner grabbed a pair and there were singles from Shaun Huett, Frank Cullen, Kevin Priest and Dean Skilton, who scored a wonder goal.
Ramsbury’s goal scorers were Thomas Hall and Jeremy Martin with a penalty, and matters might have been better for the home side if Jack Andrews had not missed an earlier spot kick.
Old Town Wanderers remain at the summit after their 4-2 triumph over eighth-placed Penhill Allstars.
The game was locked at 0-0 at half time with neither side able to score, although Penhill had hit the woodwork twice in the opening 30 minutes.
A Brent Evans strike gave Wanderers the lead, but this advantage was cancelled out by an excellent free kick from Ben Keating, before a horrible injury to defender Ben Brooks halted play.
When the match resumed, Wanderers scored three times through Dean O’Hagan, Aiden Doyle and Brent Flippance to give the home side a 4-1 lead.
Allstars continued to compete and reduced the deficit thanks to a rasping shot, but the goal came too late for a comeback.
