SKIPPER Sean O'Hanlon insists Town are blessed with two of League One's finest wide boys' and has hailed Ricky Shakes as the catalyst for the team's winning form.

The central defender feels his side are improving by the week with a growing menace developing on both flanks.

He said: "Obviously the back-to-back wins is something we hadn't done before this game. "We're definitely improving as a team.

"The goals and targets set are starting to become a reality now."

And O'Hanlon says World Cup hopeful Shakes can take a large slice of credit for that.

He said: "When Ricky scored I jumped on him and said he deserved it.

"He gives us 100 per cent every game. He pushes forward and tracks back.

"He's been the catalyst for this team in recent weeks.

"With his energy, pace and running into space he gives us an outlet and a breather.

"It's always nice to get your first goal and we're made up for him."

While Shakes is the main man on the right, O'Hanlon also highlights the contribution of the man on the left side of the pitch.

He said: "I think we've got a balance in the team now with Aaron Brown on the left. He gives us experience and pace. In my opinion we've two of the best wide players in the league."

As for the match-winner against Doncaster Rovers O'Hanlon said Charlie Comyn-Platt's versatility was proving a major plus for Iffy Onuora's men.

He said: "He wasn't getting too many opportunities at first but Charlie's now taken his chance and proved he can play anywhere.

"He's got a good attitude.

"I think he's more than made up for that chance he missed in the game we had here against Swansea City."
