NORTH BERKS: Sutton Courtenay are through to the quarter-finals of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup after a superb performance in winning 4-1 at OLA Newbury.

Dave Carter (2), Lee Jones and Nuno Fernandez got the goals for in-form Sutton and they will now be at home to Old Challinors of Amersham.

Meanwhile, Kintbury Rangers Reserves caused something of a shock in putting out Division 2 leaders AFC Wallingford A by 5-0, with Charlie Austin getting a hat-trick and Richard Guy netting a brace. They will also be at home in the next round, against Running Horse from Brackley.

In the North Berks Cup, Drayton reached their second semi-final of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Appleton (Abingdon) the only goal coming from the experienced Dave Stanley.

Lambourn Sports join them after whipping Division 3 side Stanford in the Vale 5-1, Adrian Mooney (2), Chris Pryor, Chris Collin and Craig Butler on target.

Saxton Rovers went through after scoring a goal either side of the half-time interval, through Kevin Secker and Wayne Waldron. Paul Churchouse pulled a goal back for visitors Steventon but Rovers held out and will now face Lambourn in the semi-finals.

In Division 1 of the league, Ardington & Lockinge extended their lead to eight points after beating near neighbours East Hendred 2-1, with goals from Nick Brough and Tom Weeks. Second place Coleshill United's hopes took a knock as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Grove Rangers.

Faringdon Town bounced back from last week's derby defeat with a 2-1 win over Marcham, moving up into third spot with goals from Matthew Hickson and Matthew Pill.

The big surprise this season has been the struggle of Harwell International. After just missing out on the Championship last year, they now sit bottom of the table. Gareth Fenton got all four Blewbury goals as they inflicted an eighth successive defeat (4 -2) on Harwell.

In Division 2, it was smiles all round at last for Long Wittenham Athletic, as they won their first league points with a 4-3 win at Northcroft. Ian Burton (2), Danny Osborne and Phil Lynch netted for Wittenham with Steve Cramb (2) and Andy Bulloch on target for Northcroft.

It's all boiling up in Division 4, as leaders Coleshill Reserves went down to a 1-0 defeat at Uffington United courtesy of a goal from Paul Nelson. Botley United took advantage by winning 3-2 at Sutton Courtenay Reserves, moving level on points thanks to goals from Andy Humphreys, Keiran Ellis and Nic Buck.
