PROFESSIONALISM' is a word Ross Adams didn't have to worry too much about last season as he played his part in Highworth's Hellenic League Championship winning side.

He trained once a week, at the most, enjoyed a night-out' with the lads most Saturday nights and all in all was living life as most 20-year-olds do.

His summer switch to Southern Premier side Chippenham Town has changed all that though, with the right-back admitting he now prefers an early night' to partying the night away.

Adams will tomorrow be part of a Bluebirds squad travelling to Salisbury City looking for a win to take them above their Wiltshire rivals to the top of the Southern Premier Division.

With a huge turnout expected and having already played in front of 4,000-plus earlier this season, Adams admits he is struggling to get his head around what has happened to him.

He said: "I can't quite believe what has happened. No disrespect to Highworth, as they are a great club, but everything at Chippenham is more professional.

"Football has almost become my life now. Tomorrow is a massive game for us and one that I never believed I would be involved in.

"If someone had told me a year ago that I would have played in the FA Cup and been part of a side at the top of the Southern Premier Division I would probably have laughed at them.

"With training twice a week and playing the higher standard it is far more important than ever for me to look after myself. I still go out on a Saturday night now and again but I have to admit I prefer staying in and just getting some rest."

Going into tomorrow's clash level on points with Salisbury, but having played three more games, Adams knows the importance of avoiding defeat.

"We can't afford to lose," he said. "The result won't make or break our season but if we can get something from the game it will make our job easier. I am sure it will be a very intimidating experience but I know we are bringing huge support up as well.

"If we lose not only will it be difficult to catch Salisbury but it could also have a psychological effect on us. A draw would not be a bad result although we are going all out for the win."

Gary Thorne, Nick Stanley and Iain Harvey are expected to recover from their respective injuries to give boss Darren Perrin a full squad to pick from.

Perrin is also set to swoop for Forest Green midfielder Scott Rogers, who is also being chased by Newport County and Bath City.

Cirencester Town travel to Mangotsfield United tomorrow looking to build on a run of three wins in their last four games.

Adi Viveash (ankle) will miss the clash while Gary Horgan is facing a late fitness test as the Centurions look to ease any relegation worries.

Boss Brian Hughes, said: "We have now reached the 30-points mark and that is a pyschological boost as we now feel as though we are chasing the teams above us rather than looking at the sides below."
