WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: PURTON Reserves will be looking to move off the bottom of the Wilts Premier Division table for the first time this season with a good result against visitors Pewsey, writes RAY BURROUGHS.

New manager Clive Fuller and assistant Ray Wakely worked wonders with the side last week, signing new players and getting them organised to defeat AFC Trowbridge Youth.

The manager confirmed that he has signed Ben Hinson, who scored the only goal of the game against Trowbridge, Paul Bullimore, Steve Townsend, Tony Fry, Ali Wood and Matt Dawe and added: "Purton have got some good players to blend in with the new signings, we have got to get the confidence back in the side."

Aldbourne are in action in the quarter-final of the Corsham Print Senior Cup when they entertain Melksham Town.

Both manager Tony Dyer and assistant Ian Restell were in charge at Stratton when they lifted the trophy last season.

"Melksham are a good side, they beat us on our own patch 5-1 in the league and we will be all out to put that result straight," said Restell.

"We played some good stuff last week against Westside and we look to have a full squad to choose from.

"Mick Casey is back, as is Rob English, and new signing Richard Parsons from Pewsey will also be in the squad.

"It's going to be a stern test for us however the ground is in excellent nick and everybody is looking forward to the game."

Westside take on neighbours New College in an all-Swindon clash at Southbrook.

The home side, fourth in the table, could move up to third should they collect the points and manager Joe O'Rourke will be looking to strikers Rick Hewittson and Geoff Swatton to get his side off to a good start.

Premier Division leaders Down Ampney travel to Malmesbury and look to have the edge over the home side.

Marlborough visit AFC Trowbridge Youth.

It's bottom versus top in Junior One with Lower Stratton taking on leaders Wroughton, while second-in-the-table Pinehurst Olive Branch have a stiff task at Abbey Rodbourne.

In Junior Two, Chiseldon Castrol defend their unbeaten league record against Blueprint.

Leaders AFC Rodbourne are at home to second-placed CHQ United.

LUKE Gullick has pledged his future to Biddestone, despite Corsham manager Colin Bush believing he had captured his signature.

The left midfielder will play for Graham Learmonth's side in tomorrow's Toolstation League Division One clash at home to Elmore while Corsham entertain Backwell in the Premier Division.

Learmonth said: "I don't know why Colin thought he had got him. Luke is staying."

Also in the Premier Division, Devizes entertain Willand and in-form Calne travel to Barnstaple.
