SAM Connors scored in extra time to give North Berks League Division One outfit Lambourn Sports a late 2-1 win over Ardington & Lockinge in the Charity Shield quarter-finals.

The Third Division side had taken the lead through Patrick Howe with Lambourn equalising through Rocky Rowbottom after Ardington had been reduced to 10 men.

Faringdon Town eased past Coleshill United 2-0, with Robbie Harrington and Liam Humphreys (penalty) on the scoresheet.

In the quarter-finals of the AG Kingham Cup, Shrivenham A were defeated 5-4 on penalties by fellow Division Three outfit Benson AFC Reserves, after the sides were locked at 1-1 following extra time.

Faringdon Town Reserves overcame lower-league Wantage Town A 3-2 after extra time, as Ben Spencer (2) and Chris Kershaw netted the all-important goals.

In the League Cup quarter-finals Faringdon Town A triumphed 5-4 on penalties against Harwell Village Reserves thanks to the heroics of goalkeeper Justin Yates in the shootout.

Brian Ferris had earlier scored for Faringdon as they teams finished at a goal apiece after extra time.

In Division Three, leaders Lambourn Sports Reserves surprisingly went down 3-2 at home to Sutton Courtenay. Richard Guy netted Lambourn’s consolations.

Coleshill United Reserves were subjected to a 4-0 defeat by visiting Hagbourne United in Division Four.
