DANNY Wilson insists he does not cast anxious glances towards other League One grounds on a matchday, the Swindon boss believing that looking after his own is the best policy, writes NED PAYNE.

Town travel to Exeter tonight on a busy evening of action in which nine fixtures are due to go ahead, many of which could impact on struggling Swindon’s fate this season.

But Wilson says focusing on results elsewhere would merely distract him and his players from the most important task in hand - staying in League One.

“I’m not bothered at all (by other team’s results) at the moment in time,” revealed the manager.

“I think it’s very important from our point of view that we solely concentrate on our job, that’s all we can do.

“If results go our way then great, but I don’t expect them to, I never have done, either when you’re in the top parts of the division or not.

“You’ve just got to make sure you do your own job and the rest will take care of itself, and that’s how we approach it.”

Wilson has been impressed by Paul Tisdale’s efforts since he took over as boss at St James’ Park, the 38-year-old having guided the Grecians to promotion twice during his five years in the job.

“I think over the period of a few seasons he’s got his team playing very good football, that’s for sure,” said Wilson.

“They play in the right manner and they’ve got some talented individuals in the team that can turn a game for you - Ryan Harley, Jamie Cureton - people like that. That in itself would suggest they will always be a threat.

“But I’m sure he (Tisdale) is still looking over his shoulder, because there’s that many teams that are in the vicinity of us and I don’t think anybody can feel safe at the moment.”
